Chief General Manager of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) Vinod Kumar Visht, who was mainly present in the program, took stock of the progress of NABARD funded FPO project and JLG scheme being run by NGO associate Mahila Bagaraisai. CGM Vinod Kumar Visht. Said that FPO i.e. Farmer Producer Organization has the potential to bring a big change in the economic and social condition of the villagers and farmers. Reduction in cost of production, knowledge of modern technical knowledge and better marketing facility can be provided to the farmers through FPO. Apart from this, the CGM informed that the necessary bank credit for the development of entrepreneurship in agriculture and non-farm sectors can be easily facilitated through JLG i.e. Joint Liability Group and NABARD has tied up with Jharkhand Rajya Gramin Bank for this and many other banks.
NABARD’s District Development Manager Siddharth Shankar directed to accelerate the pace of connecting farmers with FPOs. On this occasion, regional manager of Israkhand Rajya Gramin Bank RP Rajak, LDM Virendra Kumar Sheet, senior scientist Dr Arvind Mishra, environmentalist Chami Murmu, members of FPO, farmers and JLG beneficiaries were present.
